What Korean-style illustration looks like

The look centres on skin and light. Complexions are rendered with fine gradients and a cool, even key light, cheeks and the tip of the nose carry a soft flush, and lips get a glossy highlight. Line work is thin and often coloured rather than black, and hair is drawn with high-contrast strands over a flat base. Fashion and styling are contemporary rather than costume.

What it is good for

Profile pictures, webtoon-style character art, and anything meant to look current rather than timeless. It is the style most often chosen for portraits generated from a photo, because the soft lighting flatters the source without erasing the likeness.

How it differs from anime and realistic

Anime uses stronger black outlines and posterised shading; Korean style softens both and leans on gradients. Realistic keeps photographic skin texture, while Korean style deliberately smooths it and adds gloss. If a result looks flat, you have drifted to anime; if pores appear, you are in realistic territory.
