What chibi art looks like
Chibi is a proportion rule: the head takes roughly a third to a half of the total height, limbs are short and rounded, and fingers and feet are simplified to soft shapes. Because the face is enlarged, the eyes carry almost all of the expression, and details that would be legible at normal proportions — belts, buttons, weapon detail — are dropped rather than shrunk.
What it is good for
Stickers and emotes, mascots, avatars, and merchandise where the design must survive being printed small. It is also the easiest style for showing a set of emotions from one character, since the exaggerated face reads clearly at a glance.
How it differs from anime and cartoon
Anime keeps roughly realistic proportions; chibi deliberately breaks them. Cartoon also exaggerates but usually keeps longer limbs and pushes the silhouette rather than the head size. If your chibi looks too grown-up, say the head size explicitly.
